This Privacy Policy explains how Malcolm Legal handles the personal information you provide when obtaining legal services from us. Malcolm Legal is committed to respecting the privacy of the information you provide and ensuring that when we collect and use information provided to us, it is in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We may collect and store your personal information electronically or in hard copy. We collect your personal information directly We will only disclose your personal information to others for the purpose for which we collected it, being the ‘primary purpose’; and for a ‘secondary purpose’ which is related to the primary purpose and on the basis that you would reasonably expect us to do so; with your consent ; or where required to do so by law; or to the extent necessary for our agents or contractors to carry out work on our or your behalf.

On request, you have the right to access your personal information held by us. If the information is incorrect, you have the right to require us to amend the information.

Making a Privacy Complaint

If you wish to make a complaint about a breach of your privacy, you must make a complaint in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will have a reasonable time to respond to the complaint and if we fail to respond to the complaint within a reasonable time, or the complaint cannot be resolved, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
